How to prepare your quilt

There is a proper way to prepare your quilt for a quilter. Please be sure to do the following before you hand your quilt off to me to finish:

Make sure the back is as square as possible.
Make sure your backing fabric is at least 4 inches bigger on all four sides of your quilt. For example, if your quilt is 50x60 your backing should be 58x68.
If you provide your own batting please make sure that it is at least 3 inches bigger on all four sides as well.
Please bring your quilt to me un-basted. All layers must remain separate in order for me to load the quilt on my frame.
Check all seams. An open seam will cause a large tear when the foot runs across it.
